To clarify, Tumblr is indeed horribly mismanaged, but notably, it’s mismanaged both in ways that harm us (e.g. doing little about pornbots, nazis, etc.) and ways that have greatly benefited us – not asking for real names, hiding our follower counts, a chronologically-sorted dashboard, etc. are big draws, but in the eyes of other social media monarchs, they look like unforgivable mistakes. If I don’t have to give my real name, that’s that much less information to sell to advertisers. If posts are listed chronologically, Tumblr can’t shove the posts of ‘influencers’ in front of me willy-nilly. Tumblr was a ‘success’ because it was too poorly managed to sufficiently atomize us, and so we actually had conversations and communities instead of being the best products for advertisers.

Like if somebody is demisexual or asexual, they might still be romantically attracted to people, so they can use a romantic attraction label to help specify. I, for one, am demisexual, but being demisexual doesn’t describe who I’m attracted to, it described how I’m attracted to them. Adding panromantic to it helps to clarify that. Essentially, demisexual & panromantic together mean that I’m attracted to all genders, but not sexually until I’ve formed a deep emotional connection with somebody. Stop trying to erase us, we worked hard to be okay with ourselves.

Like it’s already been analyzed to death analyzing all the ways killing half of all life forms is terrible(beyond just the fact that it still creates the same situation such as ecological collapse) it’s just so ill conceived and I’m sick of these white men.
They never said it was a good plan.
The big build up, the culmination of all these separate movie lines and the climax of the entire MCU came together at a purposely bad plan? That’s more than just annoying and tbh I don’t even believe that. The narrative didn’t call it out? Maybe they will in Endgame(they have to with all the people calling it out) but it’s just such a huge oversight especially when the clarification of all life forms was confirmed outside of the movie by them.
They attempted to do something extra and hardcore but that’s a huge oversight of not even understanding the implications of the big plan. Or if they did plan for Thanos’s plan to be bad, it’s a weird ass thing to have your entire cinematic universe hinge on.
I mean… I def get where you’re coming from but literally no MCU villain has had a good plan. Like from a logical standpoint. I just… Don’t think it’s about the plan?
But also, Joss Whedon has gone on record that he didn’t have a plan for Thanos when he threw him in the stinger. So I think it was more, we’ve now established him so we have to make it work.
And sure they absolutely could’ve had him do it all to get in Death’s galactic drawls but they wanted to make him sympathetic so they gave him a(n albeit stupid) “reason.”
Yea and I think trying to make him sympathetic when he’s committed mass genocide is tone deaf and bad? They try to give him a logical reason for his bad plan but the “world is overpopulated and resources are low” excuse has been used to justify eugenics and racism. So even using that as his “bad plan” is something I don’t like.
And if it’s not about the plan then what’s it about because them all turning into dust was a universe changing event that resulted from his plan. Again basing the whole mcu climax on an illogical plan rooted in racist ideology is…not something I’m a fan of? You can’t hinge something like that on a bad plan despite whether or not Whedon planned for how to work in Thanos, the Russo brothers made the decision to have his plan be set up like that and also tried to humanize him(outside of my issues with the plan trying to sympathize an abusive genocidal war lord is not something I think should be done and they did it clumsily)
